Faranak Ebrahimian Sadabad, MD, postdoctoral associate, has been selected to receive an International Congress Travel Grant Award from the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
The grant will defray the cost of Ebrahimian’s participation in the International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Hawaii in October 2025. She will receive up to $1,000 to assist with conference-related expenses.
She will present her abstract submission “Understanding the Relationship Between Synaptic Density and Dopamine Transporter Availability in Parkinson’s Disease” at the conference.
Ebrahimian works in the Yale NeuroPET Imaging program. Her work bridges clinical insight and cutting-edge PET imaging techniques to better understand and diagnose a range of neurological disorders.
Her research is dedicated to the application of molecular imaging biomarkers, particularly synaptic density imaging using SV2A PET tracers and dopamine transporter (DAT) imaging, to improve the characterization and differentiation of neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders. She is actively involved in studies addressing Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, frontotemporal dementia, and autism spectrum disorder.
