January 31, 2023

Aniyizhai Annamalai, MD, associate professor of psychiatry, wrote two published opinion pieces through The OpEd Project's 2022-23 Public Voices Fellowship at Yale.

Eating to Save the Planet was published by the nonprofit World War Zero, and Medicare "Advantage" for my Indigent Patients was published online by KevinMD.com

Women Faculty Forum hosts the Public Voices Fellowship at Yale, which gives under-represented minority scholars the opportunity to work with top journalists from The OpEd Project. Fellows receive support in all areas of public thought leadership, including writing and placing op-ed pieces, conducting TV and radio interviews, and using social media.

Annamalai is a member of the 2022-23 cohort, which includes 20 faculty members from across the university.

She is medical director of the adult Yale Refugee Clinic which provides initial health screenings for all newly arrived refugees in the New Haven area.
