Chidinma Okani, MD, a second-year resident in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, has been selected by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to be the Resident-Fellow Member Representative for Area 1 (New England and Eastern Canada).
She will serve in the position for two years and will represent the resident and fellow members of Area 1 to the Assembly at the APA. This year she will serve as the Deputy Representative and next year as the Representative. Both are full voting positions in the Assembly.
Resident-Fellow Member Representatives meet virtually once a month in addition to attending twice-yearly APA Assembly meetings and twice-yearly Area 1 meetings.
Okani was notified of the appointment by Ayala Danzig, MD, a fourth-year resident in the Yale Department of Psychiatry and Chair of the Assembly Committee of Resident-Fellow Members at APA.
