The Yale Department of Psychiatry Residency Program has ranked third nationally in Doximity’s 2026-27 Residency Navigator program.
The Residency Navigator is a comprehensive directory of residency programs in the United States created by Doximity, an online networking service for medical professionals.
The Yale Psychiatry Residency Program has consistently ranked among the top U.S. residency programs in the poll, with results determined by peer nominations, ratings, and hand-written reviews.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and talented residency leadership team at the helm of our program," said Kirsten Wilkins, MD, professor of psychiatry and deputy chair for education in psychiatry.
The Yale Psychiatry Residency Program is directed by John Cahill, BMBS, PhD, and the department chair is John H. Krystal, MD. Each year, 18 psychiatrists are selected from nearly 1,500 applicants to complete their training at Yale through hands-on experiences, mentorship, and personalized education planning, along with other educational and clinical opportunities.
