Dix elected to board of American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry

December 11, 2018

Ebony Dix, MD, a Fellow in Geriatric Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP).

Dix will serve as the Member in Training (MIT) on the board for 2018-19.

“My enthusiasm to serve as AAGP MIT board member stems from my desire to continue contributing to the field of geriatric psychiatry on the national level,” Dix said. “During residency, I had the opportunity to engage in advocacy, education, and mentorship as an AAGP Scholar and American Psychiatric Association Leadership Fellow. I hope to expand on these, as well as my leadership skills, this year as the 2018-19 AAGP MIT board member.”

AAGP is a national association that represents and serves its members and the field of geriatric psychiatry. According to its mission, it promotes the mental health and well-being of older people through professional education, public advocacy, and support of career development for clinicians, educators, and researchers in geriatric psychiatry and mental health.
