MOMS launches racial equity initiative

October 29, 2018

The MOMS Partnership® is proud to announce an initiative to ensure that the guiding principle of equity is reflected within our organization: the development and implementation of a racial equity action plan, a set of measurable objectives on racial equity for MOMS to achieve over the next 18 months.

Under the leadership of our new Racial Equity Fellow, MOMS will craft strategies to accomplish these goals which draw from the body of research and practice literature, then document our progress throughout implementation of the action plan.

MOMS welcomes to the team our Racial Equity Fellow Janet Yim, BA, a second-year Master of Public Health student at the Yale School of Public Health, concentrating in Social and Behavioral Sciences. Janet's passion lies in making health equity a reality, with a focus on addressing the social determinants of health.

Janet has led the Mental Health and Wellness Pod at Yale's Asian American Cultural Center, creating culturally modified mental health resources for the Asian American community. She currently sits on the Student Advisory Board of the Good Life Center, Yale's official student wellness center
