YSM Program for Art in Public Spaces: Portraits of Strength

Portraits of Strength is a selection of images that captures the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and documents the experiences of health care providers, scientists, and other essential workers across Yale School of Medicine and Yale New Haven Hospital. Taken between February and October 2021, the project was conceived to express gratitude to these individuals, share their stories, and record their contributions as our community came together to understand, treat, and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
