Cinema and Psychiatry

Mission

The Cinema and Psychiatry group aims to discuss the cinematic and media portrayal of psychiatric disease with the goal of tackling stigma, better understanding public perception of psychiatrists and psychiatric conditions. Discussions are led by Yale faculty specializing in the relevant area of psychiatry.

Discussion Topics

Among the movies discussed during monthly meetings are "Gone Girl," "The Stanford Prison Experiment," "Inside Out," and "Boys Don't Cry."
