Why I Chose Yale
Looking back, I had no idea what I wanted when I was interviewing for residency. I knew I was interested in public health, but I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do. Fellowship? Research? Teaching? What I needed in a training program was a place that wouldn't close any doors, and where I would have the freedom to figure out what sort of psychiatrist I wanted to be.
What I'm Working on Now
My day (and sometimes night) job is as an attending psychiatrist in Yale-New Haven Hospital's Psychiatric Emergency Department. I'm working on a few entrepreneurship-focused projects from my residency, teaching residents and med students, and trying to find time to do more writing and live storytelling. I'm also in search of the perfect soufflé recipe, if you have any leads.
Favorite Things to do in New Haven
In town you can find me having a glass of wine at August, dragging friends to Shakespeare in the Park, or jogging if the weather's nice. On the weekends my family and I either relax and head to the farmer's market, or escape to the hills of Connecticut for a hike or NYC for a show.
What I've wanted out of life has evolved since I've been here. But to my delight, I've always found work I love, colleagues I admire and respect, and the space to enjoy my work while taking care of myself and my family. It's been a delight.
