Biography

During medical school, Kashif developed an interest in mental health in underserved communities and worked in Sri Lanka, Ecuador and in local Federally Qualified Health Centers. He took a year off between 2nd and 3rd year of med school to develop a longitudinal mental health intervention for girls living at an orphanage in Sri Lanka. His research interests include the development of culturally relevant, sustainable mental health services for vulnerable pediatric populations, domestically and abroad. Kashif was awarded the 2017 Sujal Parikh Award for dedication to issues of Social Justice, Global Health, and Collegiality. Outside of residency clinical rotations, Kashif has collaborated with local nonprofit organizations to help support refugee children in Connecticut.
