Research & Publications
Zehra graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in Neuroscience and Middle Eastern Studies. In college, she spent three months in India as an intern working with a NGO to establish community based cost-effective TB treatment centers in New Delhi. She took lead roles in conducting various clinical research projects in her two gap years and in medical school. She has a passion for medical education, curriculum development and quality improvement in this area- in her last year of medical school, she co-led the Teaching in Medicine elective for fourth year students. She also plays the nay, a classic Turkish reed flute. Before coming to Yale, she played as a member of the Cambridge Classical Turkish Music Society and Orkestra Marhaba in Boston, MA.
