Biography
Yikai Dong is a master’s student in Biostatistics at Yale University. He graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University with a B.S. in Bioinformatics, where he gained extensive knowledge in genetics, computational biology, and biostatistics. Yikai’s research interests include developing innovative frameworks for genetic risk prediction and utilizing deep learning techniques to identify disease heterogeneity at the single-cell level. His current project, supervised by Dr. David Alagpulinsa, involves comprehensive analysis of whole-genome sequencing data from type 1 diabetes patients to examine the prevalence and effects of clonal hematopoiesis mutations, contributing to the understanding of cardiovascular disease mechanisms.
