Biography

Rotem graduated summa cum laude from Bar-Ilan University in 2021. Rotem is passionate about applying ecological momentary assessment methods in the investigation of emotion regulation processes and their role in diathesis-stress models. In consonance with that, she spent her undergraduate years applying wearables devices and EMA prompts in the assessment of the psychophysiological effects of COVID-19 related-ramifications. In addition, she also focused on trauma-related research, as she studied the linkage between parent support and social anxiety in the context of social trauma and worked as a research coordinator of a multidisciplinary study assessing narrative auditory processing among PTSD & trauma-exposed populations. During that time, Rotem developed her skillset working with pediatric patients at Bar-Ilan University Mental Health Clinic. After graduation, Rotem pursued her passion in researching affect and psychopathologies by joining the Anxiety & Mood Disorders Laboratory. Rotem is honing her clinical skillset by working with children and adolescents for NIMH-funded clinical trials for anxiety treatment. Her current research focuses on the manifestation of irritability in anxious youth and their parents. Ultimately, Rotem aspires to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, hoping to engage in clinical work and contribute to the research of child and adolescent mental health.
