Bob Sideleau is the Director for the Connecticut Local Performance site of the New England AIDS Education and Training Center at the Yale School of Medicine AIDS Program. He is a Registered Nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Bob believes that the patient centered approach to HIV/AIDS care remains a priority in the field. His experiences providing HIV outreach and early intervention services allowed him to identify and address first-hand, patient barriers to entry and retention in HIV care. Additionally, his work in the field of addiction medicine in both the acute detox and outpatient Methadone Maintenance settings instilled an understanding of the complex drivers that interfere with an individual’s ability to achieve stability and manage proper self-care. Through his educational efforts at the NEAETC, he continues to guide providers, front line service workers and patients towards the keys to better HIV and HCV disease management and improved health outcomes.
