Biography
Dr Juma is a Fogarty Global Health Equity Scholars 2022-2023 fellow. She will conduct her research for this fellowship at Kenyatta National Hospital under the mentorship of Dr Christine Ngaruiya MD, MSc, DTM&H , Dr Zhao Ni, PhD, BMedSci, RN and Dr Irene Inwani MD, MMed, MPH. Her research will focus on the development of a clinical algorithm for the management of community acquired pneumonia in a high HIV burden setting using Implementation Science methodology.
Dr Juma is also a consultant physician in the infectious diseases unit at Kenyatta National Hospital. She completed her postgraduate degree in Internal Medicine with the University of Nairobi. She looks forward to a career in research geared towards reducing the burden of infectious diseases in the African Setting.
