Paris J. Lawrence is the inaugural Associate Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training and Development at Yale School of Medicine in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). He previously served as the first Assistant Director of Diversity Education in the Office of Institutional at the University of Georgia (UGA). This role, birthed from UGA’s Presidential Task Force on Race, Ethnicity, and Community, expanded access to diversity training on campus to continue to raise awareness and build skills regarding equity and inclusion. He also led the Office of Institutional Diversity in the creation and facilitation of diversity education opportunities across campus and in the Athens community.
Paris also served as the Coordinator of Diversity Education and Program Outreach in the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Georgia Southern University. In this role, he built curriculum and facilitated DEI training and educational sessions for faculty, staff and students. Paris also coordinated the office’s multicultural/multi-identity programming and advised the Diversity Peer Educators Program. He served as a member of the institution’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), Student Conduct Board, and the Student Affairs Assessment & Strategic Planning divisional committee.
Paris is a proud Georgia Southern Eagle and Georgia Dawg. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Georgia Southern University and his Master of Education in College Student Affairs Administration (CSAA) from the University of Georgia.
