Biography

Infectious disease epidemiologist whosemain research is focused on improving the health and quality of life for older adults aging with HIV. I just completed a postdoctoral fellowship in medical informatics at the VA working on projects focused on pulmonary function and adverse outcomes. Prior to my fellowship, I received my PhD in epidemiology from the Colorado School of Public Health. My dissertation examined the impact of pulmonary function on frailty and physical function limitations among men with and without HIV, using data from the Multicenter AIDS Cohort study (MACS) and we examined if the associations differed by age, HIV, or smoking. Prior to pursuing my PhD, I worked as an epidemiologist at the Center for Biostatistics in AIDS Research (CBAR) in Boston working on analyses within a cohort of older adults with HIV in the AIDS Clinical Trial Group (ACTG).
