Biography

Dr. Conroy graduated from Dartmouth College and Dartmouth-Brown Medical School. She completed residency in the Brown Department of Psychiatry, where she served as Chief Resident. She completed her Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship training at Beth Israel Hospital, Albert Einstein School of Medicine. Dr. Conroy is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine, where she also serves as the Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry fellowship program.

Dr. Conroy is the Director of the Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic in the VA CT Healthcare System in West Haven, CT and the Chair of the VA CT Dementia Committee. She provides outpatient clinical care in Geriatric Psychiatry; her expertise is in complex neuropsychiatric illness and cognitive disorders, as well as in the interface of psychiatry and medical illness.

Dr. Conroy is actively involved in the supervision and education of Yale Geriatric Psychiatry and Geriatric Medicine fellows, psychiatry residents, medical students and pharmacy students. She teaches didactic courses for fellows, physician assistant students and Neuropsychology interns. On a national level, Dr. Conroy formerly chaired the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry's (AAGP) Scholars program and is the Chair of the AAGP Teaching and Training Committee. She was co-chair of the 2021 and 2022 AAGP annual meetings.

Dr. Conroy is board certified in General and Geriatric Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Her research interests focus primarily on the recruitment of trainees, and the education of residents and fellows in the field of Geriatric Psychiatry. In 2015, Dr. Conroy received the American Psychiatric Association’s Hartford Jeste Award for Future Leaders in Geriatric Psychiatry and in 2022, the AAGP Educator of the Year Award.
