Biography
After my first few months of nursing school, I decided I wanted to be a certified nurse midwife. That was over 4o years ago and I still have a great passion for providing care to women and their families. Throughout my career, I have worked in various private practices, hospitals and community clinics. I have a great love for coming along side women, teaching, developing and utilizing ways to support them and making their desires surrounding their care become a reality. It was over 11 years ago that I came to St Raphael's Hospital with 2 colleagues to start this midwifery practice. Our vision then and now, has been to provide care in a setting which works with and respects women as they make their health care decisions.
I count it a privilege to care for pregnant women, listening to their hopes and dreams and helping to make those dreams a healthy reality! Although I stopped counting my deliveries more than 15 years ago when I hit 1000 births, I still find providing care to women throughout their pregnancy thrilling and each delivery unique and exhilarating! In addition to obstetrical care, I love working with teens and young women who feel they can discuss anything with me and I consider myself lucky to have a long established GYN clientele which I have nurtured over my many years of practice.
In addition to the joy my work gives me, I have a wonderful husband of 40 years, 3 amazing, grown children and 5 phenomenal grandchildren (don't get me started talking about them!)
