Biography

Maryam Hussain, MPH joins the YODA Project team as a Research Associate II. Maryam earned her MPH from Hofstra University. During her studies there, she was a research assistant at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research where she focused on identifying risk factors for early onset colorectal cancer for prevention initiatives and screening guidelines. She also worked for a community health coalition that aimed to address and improve health disparities in underserved communities within Long Island, New York. More recently, Maryam spent 4 years working for the national Diamond Blackfan Anemia Registry at Northwell Health which is a research organization that is dedicated to acquiring, analyzing and disseminating information to affected individuals. There, she was responsible for data collection and analysis, protocol development and clinical trial execution. She aims to continue to identify and address gaps in varying populations to improve health outcomes.
