Biography

Marcie A. Diggs is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) working in the Department of Neurosurgery, Tumor section, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She began her experience as a nurse at YNHH in 2007 with surgical patients and transitioned into the APRN role in 2019. As part of the Neurosurgery team, Marcie collaborates with numerous specialist throughout the hospital including but limited to Neuro-oncology, Radiation Oncology, Radiologist, Neurovascular and Ear Nose & Throat. In her role, she functions as an integral part of a team that ensures new and established patients receive optimal pre and postoperative care in order to promote the best patient outcomes. She is committed to providing patients with appropriate follow up, referrals, and a clear understanding of their diagnosis to cultivate the best patient centered treatment plan. Marcie has more than 19 years of experience in the medical field; serving surgical, medical, cardiac, critically ill and community patients.

Marcie has participated in many program initiatives to enhance quality and safety within the hospital setting and serves as a mentor to a multitude of Nursing and Advanced Practice students. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In addition to working with patients in the hospital setting, Marcie also serves her community as the Chair of the Equity Council at her children's Elementary School where she advocates for equal opportunities and access for students, parents, teachers, and staff in the school district. She also serves on the Board of Directors at the Children's Center of Hamden.

Marcie received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University, Master’s of Science in Nursing Education from Sacred Heart University and her Post Master’s certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Bradley University.
