Biography

Macarena Kruger is a Postgraduate Associate in the Division of Quality and Innovation (DQI) at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital (YNHPH). Additionally, Macarena is a volunteer consultant for the mental health team at Peru Sin Brechas, a Peruvian non-governmental organization. She earned a Bachelor of Science (summa cum laude with honors in Applied Psychology) at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.

Across her roles at the DQI, Macarena assists in the design and implementation of evidence-based projects on quality improvement, patient experience, measurement-based care (MBC), and health technology. Macarena also participates in the MBC System-level Implementation Steering Committee, in which she has been developing MBC-related training materials and resources for providers across delivery networks. Furthermore, she conducts comprehensive literature reviews, IRB requests, and data cleaning and analysis. Macarena is interested in gaining experience in the clinical field as well as both in quantitative and qualitative research in preparation for her application to a PhD. program in clinical psychology. She aims to continue expanding her research skills on evidence-based mental health services in order to support multicultural and bilingual youth in the near future.
