John Damianos, MD

John Damianos has been interested and involved in medical education since early in medical school. He is pursuing the Clinician Educator Distinction (CED) pathway within the Yale Internal Medicine residency program. In addition to his CED work, he serves on the Editorial Review Board for Elsevier's Clinical Key MedEd. He is an author and founding contributor for ExamCircle USMLE, an open-source board review question bank, and is a question bank editor at TrueLearn. He also serves as an editor for medical student interns writing for the in-Training magazine. Clinically, Dr. Damianos is interested in gastroenterology, specifically the role of the gut microbiota in disorders of gut-brain interaction. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee to the Alliance for Education on Probiotics, and is part of the trainee faculty for Twitter's gastroenterology journal club motility discussions. His research areas include Clostridioides difficile infection, diet in inflammatory bowel disease, therapies that target the gut microbiota, and mechanisms of bloating and distension in disorders of gut-brain interaction.
