Jamal is a Patient Navigator for InSTRIDE focusing on patients struggling with opioid use disorders. Jamal has been involved in medicine for over 7 years. He started his career as an EMT for the state of Connecticut and then continued his work in the Emergency Department (ED) of Yale New Haven Health as an ED Tech and Phlebotomist for 4 years. Simultaneously he was earning his bachelor’s degree in the science of Biology and graduated in 2018 and will graduate in 2022 with a Master of Health Care Administration. Previously, Jamal completed research on opioid use disorder for Yale University’s Emergency Department, as well as in a medical laboratory as a Medical Technologist 2 in Pathology for Yale University. He has also worked as the Data Manager for Yale’s Head and Neck Cancer Department in the clinical trials office. Jamal has also assisted with the development of COVID-19 testing and accessioning. Jamal wishes to continue to pursue knowledge and seek out making a difference in the health of society.
