Heather Susan Dowling is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Faculty member at Yale University, guest lecturer at The Graduate Institute for Consciousness Studies and guest lecture at The Connecticut Women’s Consortium Trauma and Recovery Conference.

She has a private practice for 10 years in Connecticut where she treats adolescents and adults specializing in individual, couples, family therapy, trauma, recovery, mental health issues, and dual diagnosis. She received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work in 2007.

Heather’s integrative practices are informed by traditional psychotherapy and holistic earth-based influences of mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, shamanic practices, somatic experiencing, expressive arts and family constellations systems. Heather has been trained an integrative therapist in Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT) and integration practices. These modalities acknowledge the spiritual and artistic aspects of counseling, personal growth and healing. Heather is passionate about offering individuals, families and communities embodied healing experiences, which aid them on their transformative journeys.

Currently, Heather is working on writing her first book aimed at supporting women to heal trauma through the lense of the cycles of life, birth and death. Heather will incorporate the modalities she has been practicing as a tool for women to continue healing and reclaiming relationship to their bodies and lives.
