Heather Swofford, MSN, FNP (BC)

Heather Swofford is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and serves as a Research Clinician for the InSTRIDE team. Heather graduated from Clemson University with an MSN in 2013 and has worked for the past nine years as an Infectious Diseases NP at Prisma Health in Greenville SC, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Heather’s main interests include patients living with HIV/AIDS and the intersection of infections and substance use disorders. Heather serves as a clinician for several of the research studies at InSTRIDE. In addition to her MSN, Heather holds a BA in Literature from Yale University 1987, an MA in Geography from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill 1993, and a BSN from University of South Carolina Upstate 2009. Heather enjoys cooking, camping, hiking, and walks on the beach.
