Biography
Dr. Agyapong is a clinician-innovator with diverse personal and professional experiences in biomedical research, and product/service development, health policy, and community engagement. As a first-generation, low-income college grad, immigrant, and career changer, his career began as an attendant in a 7-Eleven store before he launched a winding path to Harvard Medical school. Thus, his career mission is to tackle neglected issues in healthcare and education/workforce development through cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation - possessing a measured approach to leadership, strategic planning, resource building, and pragmatic execution.
Dr. Agyapong earned his medical degree from Harvard Medical School with Honors In A Special Field, working with Partners In Health in Malawi to design a teaching case for the global health graduate program at the University of Malawi College of Medicine (COM) - Option B+ in Malawi: Toward locally-inspired global health teaching. He has unique training in Biomedical Sciences (MS Applied Biotechnology, University of Massachusetts Lowell) and holds a degree in pharmaceutical sciences (B. Pharm.) in Ghana. Together, Dr. Agyapong has more than 16 years of post-secondary education and work experience including service/leadership in the US Army Reserve (Combat Medic) and biomedical startup R&D, which fosters resourceful collaborations in the healthcare and education/workforce innovation ecosystem.
Dr. Agyapong is a neurodivergent ambivert, a singer (soloist/chorister), a public speaker, and a community advocate. He enjoys the outdoors, animations, and occasional cooking (brunch on weekends and holidays).
