Eve Colson



Dr. Colson, Professor of Pediatrics, joined the faculty at the Yale School of Medicine in 1998. She has focused her career on newborn care, mixed methods research and medical education. She has an national and international reputation for her work in preventive care to decrease infant mortality. At Yale School of Medicine she has served as Clerkship Director in Pediatrics, the Director of the Curriculum of the Clerkships and Director of the Interprofessional Longitudinal Clinical Experience (ILCE) component of the curriculum. She is currently the Chief of the Section of Education for the Department of Pediatrics. As a Macy Foundation Faculty Scholar, Dr. Colson helped create a longitudinal experience for students early in their medical education that includes working in the clinical setting with coaches and with students from other healthcare professions. At Yale and beyond she mentors faculty and students interested in medical education research, qualitative and mixed methods research methods. Dr.Colson has published original clinical research articles and has several ongoing projects focused on medical education and infant mortality. She has served as visiting professor and has been invited to present regularly at regional, national and international professional meetings.

Dr. Colson is currently a professor of pediatrics and Associate Dean of PE/CQI in the Office of Education at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.
