Biography
Dr. King-Stephens is a neurologist with expertise in epilepsy. As a native of Mexico, he went to medical school at Universidad La Salle, completed a neurology residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York and an epilepsy fellowship at Yale University. Before moving to San Francisco, where he was his a founding member and medical director at Sutter Pacific Epilepsy Program, he was a faculty member of the Department of Neurology at the University of Pennsylvania. His main areas of interest are the surgical treatment of intractable epilepsy, intracranial EEG and neuromodulation. He has served as principal investigator in several clinical trials using anticonvulsant medications and devices to treat patients with refractory epilepsy. He is on the editorial board of Epilepsy Currents .
