Biography

Dr. Killelea began her career in health care as a volunteer with the US Peace Corps in Paraguay.  Upon her return she received an MPH from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health (now Bloomberg School).  From there she went on to graduate from UCONN Medical School, and completed her general surgery residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Manhattan, followed by a breast fellowship at Beth Israel/St. Luke’s Roosevelt.  Since arriving at Yale in 2009, she has worked closely with the breast fellows, residents and students over the years and actively participates in the teaching and evaluations of the residents on a regular basis.  She was asked to assume the role of Fellowship Director at Yale in 2015, and became the Chief of Breast Surgery for the Yale New Haven Health System in 2016.  She is currently the Interim Director of the Smilow Breast Program.  She is excited to lend her expertise and enhance the education and development of the Fellows Institute.
