This working group is a collaboration of fifty-three educational leaders from 47 institutions who convened virtually from July through November 2023 to create a "CME Funding Playbook" designed to provide CE/CPD professionals with strategies for exploring funding opportunities in the context of ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements. The authors of this resource—CE and CPD professionals—offer insights to fundraising based on their own experiences and lessons learned. This effort was built upon the work of a Funding Working Group that was initiated in 2020 to address the changing landscape in funding to support accredited CE as a result of the global pandemic. This group continues to meet to discuss current funding trends and resources.activity Leveraging AI to Transform Educational Content

activity Content Transmission to Concept Mastery: Leveraging AI to Design High-Impact Medical Education
Abstract/SynopsisThis interactive session introduces CE professionals to practical strategies for leveraging AI and curated resources in designing cost-effective, high-impact educational modules. NotebookLM will be used as a demonstration tool, guiding participants through the fundamentals of effective prompt-writing—skills that enhance efficiency and creativity across AI platforms. Attendees will learn to use AI for identifying, synthesizing, and organizing evidence-based resources that align with ACCME requirements and learning theories. A sample module for medical school course directors will illustrate best practices in educational design, implementation, and assessment. Guided discussions and hands-on activities will help participants tailor content for diverse learner levels and transform static information into engaging, outcome-driven experiences. The session highlights how AI can help CE professionals move from passive content delivery to approaches that foster durable knowledge acquisition, critical thinking, and meaningful learning. These outcomes are essential for preparing health professionals to navigate complex clinical practice.
activity The Five-minute Effect: Making an Impact in a Brief Presentation
Abstract/SynopsisAt Learn to Thrive PLUS 2023, many attendees mentioned the challenge of presenting a brief impactful talk or “elevator talk.” This session will share how Yale School of Medicine used this teaching strategy to prepare CME leaders, staff, and faculty to give effective presentations. This interactive session is a train-the-trainer workshop designed to assist learners in educating their faculty and staff on creating an impactful presentation in 3-5 minutes. This hands-on session will include strategies on how to implement a new workshop. Participants will leave with the tools to implement a workshop to educate their faculty and staff on presenting that allows them to be effective, encourage meaningful engagement, and demonstrate how to organize their key points.
