Dr.Fuss is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and is the Director of Behavioral Health in Digestive Disease where she serves as a Clinical Health Psychologist in the Digestive Health Service. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship in adult clinical and health psychology at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin and her pre-doctoral health psychology residency at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Dr. Fuss earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Memphis and her masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marquette University.
Dr.Fuss has a long-standing passion for working with Gastrointestinal (GI) and Colorectal surgery patients who are coping with functional GI and motility disorders, the challenges of adjusting to a diagnosis of IBD or an ostomy bag, and co-occurring mental health diagnoses that arise in these populations. She is also involved in various advocacy groups for GI patients, and utilizes her social media platform to further educate others about GI psychology. In her clinical work, Dr. Fuss works with patients to understand and resolve issues revolving around the gut-brain interaction utilizing CBT, ACT and brief therapy, as well as through the use of clinical hypnotherapy.
