Dr. Alejandro Suarez is board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. As a Florida native, he graduated from Barry University with his undergraduate degree in Chemistry with specialization in Biochemistry, and from Saint George’s University School of Medicine with his M.D. He did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Florida and his general Gastroenterology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then completed an advanced endoscopy fellowship at Yale University. After returning to Charleston, S.C. and entering private practice at Palmetto Digestive Disease, he also joined the Digestive Disease section at Yale University as an attending on the inpatient gastroenterology service. His clinical interest include general gastroenterology and colon cancer screening with a special interest in GI oncology, pancreaticobiliary disorders and therapeutic endoscopy.
