Andrew Lee Cox, PhD

Biography

Andy is a Scientific Manager in the Office of Strategic Research Development at Yale Department of Genetics, where he works with faculty in the development of their research programs and to improve funding outcomes.

Andy earned his PhD under Prof Tom Fleming at the University of Southampton, specializing in mechanisms of early mammalian development. He went on to do a Postdoc at the University of Cambridge and then at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) with Prof Magdalena Zernicka-Goetz, investigating cell identity and stem cell-based embryogenesis. 

Following his postdoc, Andy became a Research Editor at the journal Nature Cell Biology, covering the fields of development, mechanobiology, and the cytoskeleton.
