Biography

I joined the faculty in the Section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital Heart Center in January 2019 as the inaugural Medical Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Unit. I was trained in pediatrics and pediatric critical care at Texas Children’s and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. I have been recognized internationally as a Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist and, as a result, in 2009 was recruited to become a Substantive Consultant in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children (GOSH) in London, United Kingdom. During my career, I have focused on multidisciplinary teaching and education, critical care ultrasonography, mechanical circulatory support for cardiorespiratory failure, and clinical research utilizing my Master's degree training in epidemiology and biostatistics. I am also on the Editorial Board of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and most of my publications have focused on pediatric cardiac critical care. I hope to play a major role in transforming the new Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit into a world-class unit for the care of patients with heart disease.
