Medical Director, Psychiatry; Vice President, Behavioral Health


Dr. Tichianaa Armah, a Bronx, NY native graduated from Swarthmore College. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry home of the Biopsychosocial model. While at Yale for psychiatry residency she served as co-president of the Yale Psychiatric Residents Association and Chief Resident of the Hispanic Clinic at the Connecticut Mental Health Center in New Haven Connecticut. She received the American Psychiatric Association Minority Fellowship and was the 2012 American Orthopsychiatry Vera Paster Award winner. Dr. Armah has made an enduring commitment to community engagement and empowering youths to pursue careers in medicine and the mental health field. Her primary academic interest involves cultural sensitivity and mental healthcare disparities.

Dr. Armah is a board certified Psychiatrist who has served as the Medical Director Behavorial Health at the Community Health Center Inc. since 2013 and is also currently Vice President for Behavioral health. CHCI founded in 1972 has become a leading independent, non-profit healthcare provider in the state of Connecticut, providing comprehensive primary care services in medicine, dentistry, and behavioral health to more than 130,000 people, with a primary commitment to underserved communities.
