Emad was born and raised in Esfahan, Iran, where he attended the school of the National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents (NODET). He completed medical school at Tehran University where his thesis was on diagnosing ovarian tumors using machine learning. He then joined Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow to study connectomics. Emad joined Yale as a radiology resident in 2017 and was accepted as an American Board of Radiology Holman Fellow in 2018 to study machine learning. He plans to complete PhD training in machine learning and fellowship training in neuroradiology.
Beyond work, Emad is passionate about ballroom dance (member of Yale Ballroom Dance Team competing in silver syllabus), mountain biking, paddle boarding, tennis (former member of Tehran University Tennis Team), and poetry.
