Biography
I was born and raised in Central, NJ with my father and 3 older siblings. I grew-up
being involved in football, wrestling, and bodybuilding. I spent my undergraduate
years at University of Maryland, College Park, where I majored in Kinesiological
Sciences with a concentration of physical cultural studies. After graduation, I spent
time working as a middle school teacher in Washington DC Public School system. I
also received a Masters in the Arts of Teaching at American University. I became
interested in working with children with emotional and behavioral disturbances
and improving mental health care systems for urban communities. I matriculated to
Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2011. Since then, I have been in involved in
mentoring inner city youth and ethnographic research in disruptive behavior
disorders in children. I am interested in child and adolescent psychiatry as well as
addiction and urban community psychiatry.
