I received my BS in biology from Siena College and my PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology from Colorado State University. My research interests focus on how neurons so precisely regulate the localization of voltage-gated sodium channels. As the basis for neuronal communication, these proteins are vital for neuronal function, although little research has been done on their basic cell biology. I focus mostly on imaging techniques to observe sodium channel dynamics in living neurons with single-molecule sensitivity.
