Ali Aamar, MD

Chief Medical Resident

Biography

Hello! I graduated from King Edward Medical University in Lahore. I grew up on a ranch in a small town on the outskirts of Punjab, Pakistan. My exposure to nature at a young age connected me to Connecticut’s scenic trails, waterfalls, and streams. One of the best aspects of Yale-Waterbury is the diversity and rarity of clinical cases. As an aspiring gastroenterologist, I saw patients with uncommon conditions such as Whipple’s disease, carcinoid syndrome, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and autoimmune enteropathy. Conducting research with Yale GI faculty broadened my research experience and skills. Staying another year as a chief resident, I aim to advance my teaching abilities and continue research with Yale GI faculty.
