Dr. Simmons is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty training in Movement Disorders. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Simmons completed his residency in neurology as well as his fellowship in movement disorders at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Simmons is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine.
Dr. Simmons is the Director of the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center at Hospital For Special Care in New Britain, Connecticut. He practices in a multidisciplinary setting, and integrates care from physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and swallow therapists in his clinics. Dr. Simmons also practices acupuncture in the neurology clinics where he utilizes Kiiko Matsumoto's Japanese style of acupuncture to treat a wide variety of neurologic and non-neurologic conditions.
