Biography

Brian Letzen received his M.D. degree from the Yale School of Medicine, where he continues as an interventional/diagnostic radiology resident. He graduated with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from the Johns Hopkins University and with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida. In the past, he has worked in engineering at GE Healthcare and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. His overall research interests involve clinical, translational, and basic science innovations to provide cancer patients with the least invasive approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and surveillance - incorporating "big data" and artificial intelligence. He received a RSNA Research Resident Grant to develop a novel liver diagnosis tool using deep machine learning techniques. Additionally, he is currently investigating innovations in intra-operative cone beam CT for transarterial chemoembolization of liver tumors.
