Dr. Betty Hsiao completed her MD at Ross University School of Medicine. She completed residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York in 2015. Dr. Hsiao joined the Section of Yale Rheumatology for her fellowship in 2015. She is currently working with Dr. Joseph Craft in the laboratory to examine the function of Tfh cells in autoimmunity, performing this research as part of her Masters of Health Sciences graduate training. Dr. Hsiao is also interested in performing research that involves shared-decision making in the patient-physician relationship. She is currently working with Dr. Liana Fraenkel to examine the role of shared-decision making in the context of patients with active Rheumatoid Arthritis and the need to escalate medications.
