Andrew Dhanasopon, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego and his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.  He completed his General Surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his Thoracic Surgery fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital.  He has authored many papers and presented his published work at major society meetings including STS and AATS.

Dr. Dhanasopon’s practice includes minimally invasive (VATS) and open management of diseases of the lung, pleural space, esophagus, mediastinum, chest wall, and diaphragm.  He has a particular interest in chest wall deformities and minimally invasive correction of adult pectus excavatum.  As a skilled and innovative surgeon, he incorporates technology into his practice including navigational bronchoscopy and robotic surgery.  Dr. Dhanasopon has a passion for improving the care of cancer patients through quality improvement clinical research in thoracic surgery.
