Research Summary

The entire focus of our research is to evaluate improved ways to treat children and adolescents with diabetes and related disorders such as childhood obesity. These studies span the spectrum of clinical research from testing of advances in diabetes technology directed at the development of an artificial pancreas to behavoral interventions aimed at improved outcomes with current therapies. Clinical trials of new drugs for treatment of adolescents with type 2 diabetes. Our center has been at the forefront of pediatric diabetes research for many years. Indeed, over the past 9 years, our clinical research in diabetes is an important reason why Pediatric Endocrinology is the only Yale New-Haven Hospital program that has been consistently ranked as one of the top 10 sections in its field in the annual US News and World Report Hospital surveys.
