  • Rachel Osborn

    Residency Program Director

    Rachel Osborn is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She is Med-Peds trained but embraced the big P in her heart when she took a job fully in the department of pediatrics. Her major educational interests include deliberate strategies to teach clinical reasoning as well as structural and operational approaches to aid learning in the busy clinical setting. When not at work, she can be seen running around the East Rock neighborhood chasing her three small children who find every possible mud puddle to jump in. She also enjoys literature and writing and can be spotted on the Yale shuttle reading while she commutes into work.

  • Paul Aronson

    Deputy Program Director

    Paul Aronson is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and of Emergency Medicine, in the Section of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. His educational interests include teaching evidence-assisted medicine and engaging residents in scholarly activities. His research focuses primarily on the febrile young infant and he is an investigator for several multicenter research networks. He enjoys any and all sports, focusing on Yale and Duke teams as well as the sports his son Eli and daughter Hayley play, particularly hockey and lacrosse. Mostly, he likes spending time with his wife and kids and exploring all that Connecticut has to offer.

  • Adam Berkwitt

    Associate Program Director

    Adam Berkwitt is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics who specializes in Pediatric Hospital Medicine and also serves as Medical Director for the Pediatric Short Stay Inpatient Unit at the York Street Campus. His educational and research interests include family-centered rounds, diagnostic error, neonatal abstinence syndrome and development of clinical pathways for the inpatient service. Outside of work, Adam spends the majority of his time strolling around East Rock attempting to train his unruly dog Bitsie Growler, a small French Bulldog with a serious Napoleon complex. He can also frequently be found viewing contemporary art shows curated by his wife Sarah at Artspace, a local non-profit art center in downtown New Haven.

  • Jaspreet Loyal

    Associate Program Director

    Jaspreet Loyal is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and a Pediatric Hospitalist in the Section of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She is also the Medical Director for Inpatient Pediatrics at Yale New Haven Hospital, York street campus. Her research interests are in medical education, faculty development and communication with families around refusals, particularly vitamin K refusal in the newborn nursery. When not working, she likes to travel and hike mountains abroad, work on her photography skills, watch international soccer and spend time with her husband and two children.

    Heather Riggio joined Yale Pediatric Residency in 2017 with a diverse administrative background and a commitment to creative and compassionate support of both residents and fellows. She values playing a significant role in helping to shape the development of the Yale Pediatric Residency and Fellowship Programs alongside her colleagues.

  • Residency Program Coordinator

    Angely Martinez joined our Residency Program in July of 2018. She has been instrumental in making improvements in the areas of accreditation, recruitment, credentialing, and overall resident experience. Her goal this year is to take on bigger projects that will impact the overall growth and success of the program.Outside of work, Angely enjoys listening to podcasts, trying out new restaurants, powerlifting, and hanging out with her rescue dog Suzi. She is also an MBA student at the University of Connecticut School of Business.
