In our children's hospital, we are constantly looking for ways to improve the care that we deliver to our patients, and our residents have taken a leadership role in this effort. Each academic year, residents join an interdisciplinary team and work on a quality improvement project in the children's hospital. Many of these projects have led to meaningful change and have improved how we care for our patients. Residents participate in quality improvement educational sessions led by our QI staff and are mentored by faculty members. Those particularly interested in QI can become project leaders. Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital has been nationally recognized for QI work.
