How to Apply

Yale Pediatrics participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We conduct in-person interviews by invitation only. Interviews days occur on most Tuesdays and Thursdays in November, December and January. Our application deadline is October 1st.

All applications must include:

  • Medical school transcript
  • ERAS application form
  • Dean's letter (MSPE)
  • A minimum of three letters of reference. A "departmental" letter is not required, but if it is customary for your medical school to write these you are strongly encouraged to submit one.
  • USMLE score transcript
  • NRMP number
  • A personal statement
  • A good quality color photograph

Yale Pediatrics does not use a minimum USMLE score cutoff nor do we have a graduation date cutoff. Visas are sponsored through the Office of Graduate Medical Education.

Women and Underrepresented Minorities in Medicine

The Yale University School of Medicine and the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital are committed to increasing the representation of women and underrepresented minority scholars among its students, residents, postdoctoral trainees and faculty. We particularly encourage applications from such candidates.
