Davarian L. Baldwin delivers the Black History Month keynote address for Connecticut Mental Health Center in the Yale Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Baldwin, the Paul E. Raether Distinguished Professor of American Studies at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, is a leading urbanist, historian, and cultural critic whose work largely examines the landscape of global cities through the lens of the African Diasporic experience. A recipient of the 2022 Freedom Scholar Award from the Marguerite Casey Foundation, Dr. Baldwin is a widely published author, including of the book In the Shadow of the Ivory Tower: How Universities are Plundering Our Cities (2021).
