Biography

Dr. Giuliano is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2002, completed a pediatric residency at Children's National Medical Center in 2005 and a pediatric critical care fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in 2008. Dr. Giuliano is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. He has been the Medical Director of the Critical Care Transport Services since 2008 and Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program since 2014. He is also the Associate Medical Director of both the pediatric ECMO service and pediatric ICU. Dr. Giuliano's research interests include improving the care of critically ill pediatric patients who are transferred from other facilities. Additionally, he investigates the body's inflammatory response to infection in children with severe sepsis and septic shock. Finally, he is a constant educator of medical students, residents and fellows. Dr. Giuliano was awarded the Howard A. Pearson M.D. Faculty Teaching Award and has co-authored multiple manuscripts pertaining to improving the safety of endotracheal intubation.
